Slavic Burlesque Festival is an international celebration of burlesque — a performing art that combines performance, theatre, dance, costume, and feminine (as well as queer) expressive power. The festival was created from the need to promote and develop burlesque in post-communist countries, where for decades corporeality, eroticism, and artistic freedom were pushed to the margins or treated as taboo.

The highlight of the festival is the Slavic Burlesque Queen / King competition, dedicated to both rising starlets and seasoned performers. Winners are selected in three categories:

• Best Costume

• Best Show Concept

Slavic Burlesque Queen / King — the main title

Slavic Burlesque Festival is not only a competition, but above all a manifesto of artistic freedom, a celebration of the body, diversity, and sisterhood, as well as an attempt to reclaim the narrative around eroticism and performance in this part of Europe.

  • Burlesque & boylesque artists

If you love burlesque and want to share your art with an international audience — this stage is for you.

This competition night is dedicated to both rising starlets and experienced performers who want to shine, challenge themselves, and become part of Slavic burlesque history.

The Mind Behind Slavic Burlesque Festival

The organizer of Slavic Burlesque Festival is Pin Up Candy Burlesque Star, one of the most prominent figures on the Polish burlesque scene. In 2016, she won the title of Classic Burlesque Queen in Moscow. Her professional shows captivated both the jury of Poland’s Got Talent — where she reached the semifinals — and audiences in Poland and abroad. The Polish media have hailed her as the Queen of Polish Burlesque.

Pin Up Candy is a burlesque ambassador, a master of fan dancing, and the first Polish woman to present burlesque on stages in Paris, Vienna, and Berlin. As a producer and promoter of numerous burlesque events — including Slavic Burlesque Festival and Burlesque Revue — she consistently builds the international presence of the Polish burlesque scene.
